BIRTHDAY OF THE CHINESE PILOT JAO DA is an annual festival that takes place in the second half of summer in the open air. The festival traditionally has a great line-up and a great atmosphere.

Page structure

The structure of the page reflected all the basic information: dates, place and time of the event, answers to basic questions. And also everything that guests might need:
  • opportunity to purchase a ticket
  • festival line-up
  • transfer options and driving directions (with the ability to build a route)
  • opportunity to book accommodation
We paid special attention to the mobile version: it should be convenient for guests to use the site on the road and during the event.

When developing the design, we used a set of hand-drawn elements that are used in the design of the club.
The layout of the elements is not typical, it creates the feeling of a printed poster.

We worked on the LineUp block

The festival takes place over three days, and almost all of this time there are two stages. We have designed the line up in the form of a table, in which you can see who is performing, when and on what day.

Made a detailed route map

The festival was planned near the city of Pereslavl-Zalessky. You could get to it in different ways: by your own and public transport, or by taxi. Public transport runs from Moscow or Yaroslavl. For the convenience of guests, a paid transfer from Moscow was organized.
For each method, we have made a detailed description of the route and a driving map, which can be used online or sent to a smartphone.

We have made a decision for booking

Integration with the Timepad service has made it possible to implement convenient booking of tickets and making payments: the site user selects dates and a reservation option, and we send this choice to an external service. It provides a gateway for payment by card and ;online check after payment, at the same time, takes a commission for payments. At the same time, it provides paid advertising tools for promoting events.
Also on the site you can book tents and houses located on the festival grounds. Their booking is organized without the help of external solutions.

Weather widget

The site contains a widget that shows the current weather. This is convenient for festival guests: many of them sleep in tents and in the open air in sleeping bags.
We calculated the maximum number of visits to the site, and made an easy and quick solution: the weather in the widget is updated when the page loads and is not saved. This way the weather is always up-to-date, but it slows down the page loading. We do not use this approach in projects with higher load.
